Re: Young Lady
As a Young Lady in my early twenties, I had a boss who called me Young Lady. We are both retired but still keep in touch. When I answer the phone or I call him and he answers the phone, his Hello Young Lady brings back a lot of good memories. I don’t care to be called Honey but sometimes Young Lady is definitely called for.
You would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to realize how dangerous chemical pest control is to the future of life on earth! I commend the enlightned people here for taking a stand against the unenlightned, uninformed , profit seeking , neat freaks pushing back on efforts to preserve and protect our precious city. Which survives because we depend on our land and water resources.
Developement and sloppy use of toxics is wiping out our natural resources. Indian River County has the second highest rate of non hodgkins lymphoma in Florida. Most chemical pesticides used have known health hazards and are dangerous to our immune system. A strong immune system is our best defense against epidemics. We will go the way of the endangered bees if we continue abusing ourselves along with nature.
Harvest the weeds. Use them for fertilizer, mulch. Humans introduced fire ants to kill insects. And they do , including termites. Detergent and vinegar, digging up their nest, and maintaining a healthy yard will solve some problems. Leaving areas natural encourages ant eating insects and wildlife.
Insects come inside looking for food. They come in usually thru an opening. You can trace this opening and seal it with caulking. Detergent vinegar and water will desolve the waxy substance on the shell of insects. Vinegar smell is a deterant to creatures that depend on scent.
Highly informed, members of our city are trying to save our Sebastian. It is an uphill battle.

I am a 92 year old WWII 100% disabled veteran who is disgusted with the unpatriotic division that has taken over the country. There are many examples I could cite but one I have to observe daily is right across the street from my home. There is an American Flag being flown that has a blue bar across its face. This to me, and others, is a desicration of our national emblem, which represents unity to all the men and women who have died defending our freedom. Someone told me that this flag represents the fallen law enforcement officers while on duty. While I respect and honor our law enforcement agencies I believe they are civilians and not military service people. Second, if we wish to honor the law enforcement community, they or the manufacturers , should design their own flag. The MIA/ POW flag was especially designed for a specific group and so it should be for others.
