Georgiabelle Davis

Georgiabelle Walton Davis, 89, the only child born to Claiborne Cook Walton and Flonnie Carson Walton, passed away August 8, 2019 in Vero Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Davis was raised in Stanford, Kentucky where she attended school, was a graduate of Jackson High School, Jackson, Michigan, and attended Sullins College, Bristol, Virginia. In 1950 she married John Burnett Davis and they lived on her grandparent’s farm near Hustonville, Kentucky. Later she and her family moved to Vero Beach, Florida where she worked on the editorial staff of The Vero Beach Press Journal. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, John B. Davis of Vero Beach, Florida; two sons, John B. Davis Jr, of Texas and Gary L. Davis of California; and a daughter, Nancy D. Yates (Henry) of Vero Beach. Grandchildren are Nora B. Bryant of Atlanta, Travis O. Hunter of California, Christopher L. Davis of Arizona; and five great grandchildren: Brayden and Benjamin Davis of Arizona, Emily and Andrew Bryant of Atlanta, and Claire Hunter of California.

A private graveside service is planned at Hustonville Cemetery with Robert C. Camenisch providing services.
