Team Red, White & Blue phone app for veterans

Team Red, White & Blue has created a free phone app to address the loneliness of veterans by connecting them to physical and social activity with other veterans.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY - Veterans looking to connect with other veterans, either locally or when travelling, have a new tool.

A non-profit organization called Team Red, White & Blue has created an app to address the loneliness of veterans by connecting them to opportunities for physical and social activity with other veterans.

The free app is available in the App Store and on Google Play by searching “TeamRWB”.

Team Red, White & Blue was founded by veterans to serve as a bridge connecting veterans to each other and their communities. They seek to harness the camaraderie and physical challenges of military service and use those to keep veterans engaged.

According to Team RWB, loneliness and lack of purpose and fitness present challenges for more than 200,000 veterans leaving the military every year. The app was “developed by veterans, for veterans” to counter the isolation many veterans face by connecting them to people and physical activities.

The Team RWB app gives real-time access to thousands of nationwide events for veterans like rucks and runs, hiking, cycling, yoga, rock climbing, biking, searchable by location or type of activity. You can check-in for events, view who else is attending, and keep a history of your past and upcoming events. It also allows sharing of events to social media sites.

The app also connects veterans looking to perform community service. According to Team RWB, “meaningful team and community-based experiences such as leadership and service, beyond physical and social activities, renew self-identity and purpose in life.”

Team Red, White & Blue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Alexandria, Virginia.
