Martin County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications from individuals interested in volunteering to serve on the following committees. All individuals serve without compensation and are requested to submit an application for appointment to Martin County Administration by Friday, Nov. 30.

Community Redevelopment Agency
The Martin County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications from individuals interested in volunteering to serve on the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). The Community Redevelopment Agency is authorized to carry out all community redevelopment and related activities specified in F.S. § 163.370, with the exception of the powers specifically enumerated in F.S. § 163.358, which shall be retained by the Board of County Commissioners. The Agency shall review and recommend modifications to the countywide community redevelopment plan to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners. This is a two year term.
To qualify, the person must either:
1. Reside in a community redevelopment area; or
2. Be a resident of Martin County and engaged in a business within the area of operation of such community redevelopment area, which means:
a. Owning a business, or
b. Practicing a profession, or
c. Performing a service for compensation, or
d. Serving as an officer or director of a corporation or other business entity so engaged;
3. Be a resident of Martin County and own real property within a mile of the community redevelopment area; and
4. Have served as a member of a Neighborhood Advisory Committee.
The Agency meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Administration Building, 2401 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart. The next few meetings are scheduled for Nov. 26 and Dec. 18.
County Health Care Review Board
The Martin County Health Care Review Board is seeking applications from individuals interested in volunteering to serve on the County Health Care Review Board.
Vacant Position is for an at-large member.
Powers & Duties of the County Health Care Review Board:
Recommends to the Board of County Commissioners those indigent individuals whose hospitalization costs shall be paid from the hospitalization fund. There are no qualifying requirements.
Created pursuant to Chapter 2001-295, Laws of Florida & Code Section 163.33.
The five member Board is comprised of two Board of County Commissioners, two members of the Hospital Board, and one at-large member chosen by the majority of the four members so appointed.
Meetings are held at 11 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the Growth Management Department Conference Room (first floor) of the Administrative Center, 2401 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart.
