Martin County Pet of the Week - Week of November 22

Meet Pepper

Sweet Pepper has had a very difficult time here at HSTC. She has extreme anxiety that causes her to attempt to hurt herself when she is not on medication. She is extra fearful of storms and requires additional medication to prevent her from hurting herself. Pepper is looking for a new home where at least one of her humans is home most of the time. Pepper came to HSTC back in July when her family could no longer continue to help Pepper with her anxiety. She has lived with cats without issue but seems to be picky about her dog friends. Due to her severe anxiety, it is not recommended that Pepper live with very young children.

When her anxiety is not so bad she enjoys food puzzle toys, going for long walks, and snuggles. She seems to be housetrained and lets staff know she needs to go outside with a sharp bark.

Pepper is a HSTC Dolly’s Dream Dog. This means her adoption fee has been sponsored AND she comes with a bunch of extra goodies to help her adjust to her new home. Some of these bonus goodies include a crate and a free six week training class. To learn more about Dolly's Dream, please visit https://www.hstc1.org/dollys-dream.
