VERO BEACH - A new mural has been painted on the wall of the cat room at the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County. The public is invited to a dedication ceremony on Fri., Dec. 6, at 5 p.m.

Indian River Charter High School student and artist Summer Foster led the project. Summer designed the mural and organized other IRCHS students including Caitlyn Stutsman, Kelsey Jones, Aaron Black and Ally Hannan to paint the image.

“The mural is a depiction of shelter animals parachuting into the arms of their new forever homes,” HSVB spokesperson Mindy Miller told Hometown News.
