VERO BEACH ― Fans and friends of the band Old Barber Bridge will get together on Sat., June 27, from 5-11 p.m., to celebrate the life of Jason Nesbit.
Mr. Nesbit, the former guitarist/vocalist of Old Barber Bridge, died in 2018 from cancer at the age of 46. Nez Fest 2020 at Walking Tree Brewery will be a benefit for Kids Rock Cancer, a program that uses music and songwriting to help children with cancer express their emotions.
Old Barber Bridge, known to fans as OBB, was a Vero Beach folk, rock, and bluegrass band formed in 2007. Members of the band will close out the show from 10-11 p.m., joined by local musical notables.
Opening the show is Matt Manning, playing from 5-5:30 p.m. Eric Hall and Jason’s brother Frank Nesbit perform from 5:45-6:15 p.m.
Next on the bill are Joint Chiefs, 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Souljam, 7:45-9:15 p.m.; The Leftovers, 9:30-10 p.m.; followed by the finale from Old Barber Bridge & Friends.
Jason Nesbit was born and raised in Vero Beach, and he resided in St. Louis when he passed away. He had returned to school full-time to become a music therapist. He was the husband of Jennifer, and father to son Austin and daughter Jordan.
At Nez Fest 2020, $1 of every pint of beer sold will go to Kids Rock Cancer.
