• Creek Walk: A colorful, eclectic, diverse, fun and interesting part of downtown Stuart. This is your Arts & Entertainment District. We are in the beginning stages of defining and developing this neighborhood, filled with service, professional and retail businesses of all kinds. The District runs along Colorado Ave and side streets to the east, such as Kindred, MLK, and 6th St - including Kiwanis Park, and is bordered by Johnson Ave., the location of 901 Hub, a cool space for think tanks, meetings, workspace, and events. The First Friday Creek Walk will be a monthly event, with Nov. 1st between 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. being our first "soft launch" walk. Various businesses and retailers will be open from 5 to 8 PM (with some open until 11 PM) - for you to visit on your stroll. Each stop will have light refreshments and will host either a visual or performing artist for you to meet and enjoy. This event is free to attend, but thank you for tipping performers and remembering/patronizing these businesses - either during the event or in the future.. • The Treasure Coast Brew Fest: One of the Treasure Coasts largest beer fest, is Veterans Day weekend from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the beautiful outdoor Tradition Square where attendees can sample more than 300 beers from more than 50 breweries. In addition to craft beer tasting, guests can sip wine, dine al fresco food truck style, enjoy live music and play games. Our beer fest is family friendly, and all of our guests who arent sampling beer and wine can attend for free. Proceeds benefit Operation 300, Molly’s House, and Angler Action Foundation. • The NIGHTHAWKS with Hurricane Hawk & the Invaders: The Nighthawks are special guest for one night only from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Opening band is the rocink swingin blues of Hurricane Hawk & the Invaders. • HSTC Homecoming: Where: Marriott Hutchinson Island Beach Resort & Marina, 555 NE Ocean Blvd, Stuart. The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast is hosting its first ever HSTC Homecoming. That’s right, this is a formal ball in the fall, which many will identify with as a Millennial Dance Party. There will be a DJ, light bites, raffles, and of course, a King and Queen crowned during the event. Join your friends and familiar faces center stage as your favorite songs from the mid-90s to the early 2000s fill the air. • A.C.T. presents “A Tuna Christmas” by Ed Howard, Jaston Williams and Joe Sears Comedy Show: Set in the made-up, tiny town of Tuna, Texas this hilarious play satirizes small-town American life leaving little untouched. The show is a sequel to the original, Greater Tuna, which started off as a comedy sketch by Sears and Williams at a party in 1981. Radio station OKKK news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including the annual lawn-display contest and Joe Bob’s production of “A Christmas Carol,” jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. • Story Time in the Gallery: Fun for the Youngest Readers The Arts Council of Martin County believes you’re never too young to appreciate the arts and has worked to enhance and elevate arts education to residents of all ages since its founding in 1980. Story Time in the Gallery is made possible by PNC Bank’s Arts Alive program and will offer art-themed story time geared preschool children and their families on the last Thursday of each month. Story time at the Court House Cultural Center runs from 10 - 10:30 a.m. Volunteer readers from Bridges Montessori, The Pine School and PNC Bank, among others, select books that celebrate the arts in some way. Selections may involve a beautifully illustrated storybook with the reader explaining the medium used or it could be a ‘learn to count’ book using Van Gogh’s sunflowers. One volunteer discussed the color wheel using books about rainbows. Parent or guardian must accompany the child for the duration of the program and families are encouraged to inger, mingle, and enjoy the exhibit after the Story Time in the Gallery presentation. There is no cost for these special mornings and, although geared for preschoolers, accompanied children of any age are welcome.
