TREASURE COAST - The Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program has launched its 17th annual IRL photo contest. Entries will be accepted until Aug. 3, and the best 12 photos will be featured in the 2021 One Lagoon calendar.
The photo judged the overall winner will be on the calendar cover.
All images must feature some aspect of the Indian River Lagoon or its watershed, including tributaries, from High Bridge Road in Volusia County to Jupiter Inlet in Palm Beach County. Coastal beach photos and surfing photos are not eligible.
Up to three entries per photographer will be accepted in five categories: “Working and Playing on the Lagoon”; “Lagoon Plants and Animals”; “Scenic”; "Living Lagoon-Friendly"; and “Volunteering to Help the Lagoon”.
All images must be in landscape (horizontal) format, and any recognizable person appearing in a photo must sign a model release, which is available at the contest website. If a child under 18 is recognizable in the photo, a parent or guardian must sign the model release.
While contestants retain all rights to their images, all entrants must grant permission for unrestricted use of the image to the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program. This includes use on the internet, in publications, and in educational exhibits.

If submitting by mail, include a CD or thumb drive of all photos being submitted.
Winners will be contacted in September.
