TREASURE COAST ― Whoopi Goldberg, Bryon Allen, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Billy Crystal, Tiffany Haddish, and many more of the world’s funniest comedians will participate in the Feeding America Comedy Festival Livestream Benefit on Sun., May 10, from 7-9 p.m.
The broadcast will air on NBC, Comedy.TV, The Weather Channel, and the Local Now streaming app.
The Feeding America Comedy Festival will also feature Louie Anderson, Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Wayne Brady, Adam Carolla, Cedric the Entertainer, Margaret Cho, Andrew Dice Clay, Deon Cole, Whitney Cummings, Tommy Davidson, Bill Engvall, Mike Epps, Billy Gardell, Brad Garrett, Kevin Hart, Kevin James, Jim Jefferies, Jamie Kennedy, Keegan-Michael Key, George Lopez, Jon Lovitz, Howie Mandel, Sebastian Maniscalco, Marc Maron, Tim Meadows, Caroline Rhea, Sarah Silverman, JB Smoove, Kenan Thompson, and Marlon Wayans.
Funnie or Die will co-produce the event with Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group.
“Laughter is often the best medicine, and we are extremely motivated to bring attention to issues of food insecurity, and to assist in providing meals to families across the country who are financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Byron Allen, head of Entertainment Studios/Allen Media Group.
Viewers will be encouraged to donate to Feeding America, which is working with food banks to provide emergency food boxes and drive-thru pantries. Every dollar raised from the COVID-19 Response Fund will be used to get food and funds to local food banks across the U.S.
“The coronavirus pandemic and the economic downturn it has created are shining a light on the fragile nature of people’s household budgets,” said Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America, a nationwide network of 200 food banks. “Millions more of our neighbors are turning to food banks for help.”
