VERO BEACH - The Kilted Mermaid in Vero Beach has three fun but very different shows lined up for the Independence Day weekend.

On Friday, July 5, Vero Beach natives Souljam rock the Mermaid stage with an infectious blend of original jam band tunes and classic rock covers, with an emphasis on bands like The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, and The Tedeschi Trucks Band.

On Saturday, July 6, the Micah Scott Project takes over. Micah Scott is a Jupiter-based Americana/folk/blues musician who lists influences as diverse as Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Muddy Waters.

After founding a popular South Florida band called The KillBillies, Micah Scott went solo with his 2016 album Dark Horse. The album debuted at number 1 on the Amazon Roots-Rock chart, and the single Step Outta Line reached number 1 on the Amazon Alt-Country and Americana chart.

On Sunday, July 7, Drago! Drag Queen bingo returns to the Kilted Mermaid. Star performer Kelli Randell celebrates the second birthday of Drago, a surprisingly non-traditional success story on the Treasure Coast.

Every Wednesday is Open Mic Night with Will Goulet. Every Thursday is Trivia Night with Jason Grounds. Trivia starts at 8:30 p.m., top two teams win gift cards, bar tabs, and beer swag. Four rounds with 10 questions each.

Souljam and Micah Scott Project each play 8-11 p.m. Drago! Drag Queen Bingo runs 7-10 p.m.

Kilted Mermaid is located at 1937 Old Dixie Highway, Vero Beach. For more information, visit www.kiltedmermaid.com or call (772) 569-5533.
