VERO BEACH - Frank Wosar and the Space Coast Symphony Jazz Orchestra will swing some of the world’s best loved television and movie scores turned jazz standards when they present From the Flat to the Silver Screen on Fri., Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at Pathway Church in Vero Beach.
The group of Central Florida's top musicians will perform classic TV themes from Bewitched, Bandstand Boogie, and Peter Gunn as well as selections from movies The Pink Panther, Rocky, Austin Powers, Blues Brothers, and more.
The Space Coast Symphony Jazz Orchestra will also perform tunes from Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole.
The musicians will perform safely distanced from each other, while concert attendees are invited to set up their own seating next to their vehicles, or remain in their cars and tune their radios to a live feed of the music.
"This will be special for us, because it's the first time we have performed together in seven months," said Space Coast Symphony Jazz Orchestra Conductor Frank Wosar. "Plus, it's great to play theme songs and watch the audience reaction. They always smile as they listen to the music and reminisce."
Mr. Wosar, the adjunct jazz trombone professor at Valencia College, has played with The Supremes, Hootie and the Blowfish, Mark Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Paul Anka, and KC and the Sunshine Band.
