In addition, the Elliott Museum is continuing the In Her Image 2020 exhibit. This is a juried exhibition focusing on women and women’s issues and featuring 33 different artists who have created their work using discarded mannequins and a variety of mediums and techniques. The project is the creation of Jeanne Johansen and the Fort Pierce Art Club, and the participating artists come from all over the Treasure Coast, including Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach counties.
A portion of the admission fee and sales will go to the Fort Pierce Art Club and the Inner Truth project. The Inner Truth project is a nonprofit organization whose vision is “to create a community free from gender violence and victim-blaming where survivors of sexual trauma live with acceptance, understanding and greater mental and physical health,” as stated on their website at innertruthproject.org.
Admission to the Elliott Museum is $14 for adults and $6 for children six to twelve years. Children five and under may enter free. Hours of operation are 10 am to 5pm seven days a week. For more information, please call (772) 225-1961.
